Fat is good.

Fat is good. I am not sure who and when started this NON-FAT products tendency, but I believe that it was just another reason for companies to extend their product lines and add one more variety with label “non-fat”, and has nothing to do with a good influence on the body.

What should you know about fats? There are two types of fats “good fats” and “bad fats”. Your body has natural need in fats and you feel hungry if you do not have enough of them. That’s why, eating non-fat products make hungry sooner and give you not enough energy for your regular activities. Oppositely, as a result of eating “good” fats your body will feel satisfied and have higher productivity. Also, you will be less likely to have second meal as a result of not feeling full.
Types of fats:
·         Monounsaturated Fat: Olive, canola and peanut oils, avocados, nuts and seeds
·         Polyunsaturated Fat
ü  Omega 6: Sesame, sunflower and corn oils, nuts and seeds
ü  Omega 3: Fattier fish, canola and soybean oils, flax seed, walnuts
·         Saturated Fat: dairy products, butter, lard, coconut oil, palm oil, palm kernel oil and cocoa butter
·         Trans Fats: products contain shortening or partially hydrogenated vegetable oil such as chips, sweets, pizza, donuts, frozen food, French fries (Health Check, n.d.). These unhealthy fats are cheap, easy to produce, and make product last-longer. These products should be strictly avoided. Furthermore, label “Tras. Fat: 0” not always represent “true” amount. There is a very interesting article called “10 Surprising Foods That Contain Trans Fat”, here à http://www.acaloriecounter.com/trans-fat-foods.php
Nowadays, there are a lot of discussion and warnings about diseases caused by fats and China Daily reports:  “Based on decades of research, over-consumption of trans-fatty acid can increase the risk of cardio-vascular disease. Some research has also revealed that over-consumption of this could increase the risk of diabetes, posing a threat to a baby’s birth weight and leading to possible allergy, asthma problems, high blood pressure and cancer” (China Daily, 2013).
So make sure you eat enough healthy fats, smile and enjoy your life.
